Winery Happenings
May Sale
On sale for the month of May is our Cherry wine at 10% off. This is our only pure fruit (other than
grape) wine – it is made only from the juice of sour and sweet cherries. This may be the last cherry wine we have;
there is no 2011 in tank and the 2012 cherry crop in PA just got wiped out with
the late frost.
Events
Join us on
Saturday, May 12th, for a benefit for the Pottstown Bark for
Life! Bring in the flyer that is posted
on their website at http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=41530
and 10% of your wine purchases will be donated to the American Cancer
Society. There will be several groups
here selling dog treats and holding raffles and Levan Stone Art will be here
selling dog-related items. Also, the first 100 people that bring in their
flyers will get a free wine glass with our logo on one side and a paw on the
other side! Well-behaved dogs are
welcome on the property, but not inside the tasting room. Love the title of this event – Less Barking,
More Wineing!
Wine Update
Our 2010 Merlot has been released.
Remember back two summers ago, in 2010, when we were all complaining
that it was so hot and dry? Well that’s
the kind of weather that grapes adore.
So 2010 was a really nice vintage and the wines are ripe and
concentrated. The Merlot is the first to
be released and it will be interesting for folks to compare the 2010 to the
2008 vintage that we currently have available.
I am guessing that you will have strong opinions about which wine you
like better, but that is what makes wine so fun. It’s all a matter of taste!
Mason’s Mayhem is
coming back soon – I will send an email out when it is ready. Same goes for the Z-Z-Zangria.
The Annex
Some of you may
have noticed the little blue/purple cottage that is adjacent to the farm (if
you make a right out of the winery driveway).
Well this is the new winery annex!
It is a small, intimate space available for rent for private tastings
and events. Call for details. It is also where we are going to hold our
popular cooking classes and new craft classes.
Speaking of which……
Cooking classes
have been scheduled for May and June:
May 11 – Mother’s
Day Brunch
May 25 – Memorial
Day Picnic Lunch
June 8 – Finger
Foods
All classes are
on Fridays at 11:30. The cost of $28
includes the class, lunch and a glass of wine.
Call the winery to sign up – classes fill up pretty quickly and there is
a maximum of 12 people per class.
Craft classes
will be held Thursday nights from 7 to 9 pm.
The first two are May 17 and May 31.
The same class will be offered both times and is called Wine Cocktails
and Charms. Everyone will make a set of
6 wine glass charms that they take home with them and enjoy creative wine
cocktails while making their charms.
Cost is $28 and limited to 10 people.
Call to sign up.
Have a
group? Set up your own private class –
just call if interested.
